Hello to wonder

The (paralysed) man got right up. He picked up his mat and went out while everyone watched in amazement. (Mark 2:12)

It can help to find the words to tell the truth of where you are now.  If you can find the courage to name ‘here’ – especially in the place where you do not wish to be – it can help you be there.  Padraig O Tuama

Awakened

Oh to be so wide eyed as this child! This account is one amongst many of Jesus healing a person and leaving incredulity and also anger in his wake.  John O'Donohue remarked that in the experience of beauty we awaken and surrender in the same act. Maybe exposure to the extraordinary, to the unexpected, is in the first instance a wake up call.  It may then lead to the all important surrender or less helpfully rigidity. I ask myself am I alert to the moments of wonder in my day?  How will I treat them?
