Receptivity and patience, within chaos and disruption

Sometimes to move forward we need to go down, go deeper. We will take our lead in the coming months from a comment by Daniel O'Leary:

"In order to travel light along the path of our inner journey, we do not have to devour more and more books; we only have to continually reflect on the few lines of truth that nourish the heart, and to put that wisdom into practice." (Travelling light)

This often necessitates a pause. And then what? For what?

Ruth Fainlight's poem The Other suggests to me a posture and an intent towards life and God (be 'receptive and patient' and attend, open yourself), which is a long and 'stern' process (ie difficult) but offers a hope of some divine-human exchange (that an Other ‘will step from the shadows').
